A new festival launches on Dingle Peninsula this November.
The inaugural Dingle Literary Festival (Dingle Lit) is taking place this November over the weekend of 22nd, 23rd & 24th November. Dingle Lit is a festival that aims to celebrate and enhance the cultural life of the Dingle Peninsula. It is a new, inclusive and accessible festival for adults and children focused on the literary arts – fiction, poetry and non-fiction in English and Irish – and delivered through readings, workshops and performance. We are also delighted to announce we are launching a book award: Dingle Crystal Book of the Year.
Dingle Lit Clg is run by volunteers and all funds generated by the festival will go towards organising and promoting an annual Dingle Lit for both adults and children. This is a festival run by the community of the Dingle Peninsula for the people on the Dingle Peninsula.

We are committed to setting up a literary festival that is inclusive for everyone in Kerry. We aim to curate events that appeal to all of society and embraces the community. We want everyone to see the programme of events and say, “oh there’s an event for me”. We are committed to paying all the authors and facilitators, and the committee are volunteers. We are aiming to attract both national and international authors providing the book lovers of Kerry with the opportunity to hear them speak.
We are launching a Founders Programme. We invite Founders to commit to supporting the festival with a minimum of €1,000. Founders have the option of making a one-off donation or to spread the donation over the first five years of the life of the festival.
In return they are connected to the festival, as a founder in perpetuity, becoming part of the cultural heritage of the Dingle Peninsula. Founders will ensure:
– Help ensure that the literary festival begins life on a strong footing.
– Help introduce the next generation of readers to new authors.
= Help create a festival that will have a positive economic impact on the peninsula.
We invite you to become a Founder of Dingle Lit, the literary festival. Make contact at firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to us in person on 085 867 8955.
