Poetry with Mary O’Donnell and Emer Fallon

A poetry discussion chaired by Nicholas McLachlan. Mary O’Donnell and Emer Fallon will be in conversation and reading from their work.
Mary O’Donnell’s work has been published in Ireland, the UK, and internationally since 1990, including poetry, four novels and three short story collections. Her eighth poetry collection Massacre of the Birds (Salmon) appeared in 2020 and has recently been translated into Portuguese and published in Brazil. Her selected short stories are available in Argentina in a new Spanish translation. She was appointed Poet Laureate of the town of Naas during 2022. Her newest publication is a limited edition chapbook of poems, Outsiders, Always, from Southword Editions, Cork.
Emer Fallon’s poetry has been published in Banshee, The Stinging Fly, Poetry Ireland Review, The Irish Times, and The Poetry Bus, and features in Washing Windows III and two Ponc Press letterpress volumes. Her first collection Thin Lines, will be published by Salmon Poetry, explores the places we encounter between sanity and madness, sickness and health, the past and the present, and life and death, travelling from a Wicklow childhood to life in the West Kerry gaeltacht, and examining the many crossing points encountered along the way.
