Dingle, Lispole, Fionntrá/Ventry’, by Carl O’Flaherty is a new book containing 60 stories, 450 photographs, and 370 pages brimful of social history and local lore of the peninsula.
You are invited to the book launch in O’Flaherty’s on Saturday 18th November from 4 pm, presented by local historian Dr Conor Brosnan. Carl will be there on the day to discuss the book, as well as sign copies, and the book will be available to purchase on the day.
Carl is a native of Dingle and has over the years written two books ‘Dingle Before Fungi Came to Town’ and ‘Dingle People; Farmers, Fishermen, Families & Friends’. The stories contain biographies, genealogy, place names, and historical and social events, with the aim of offering an insight into the people, culture, and places which makes Corca Dhuibhne one of the most historical, intriguing, and mystical destinations in Ireland.
