Ernest Hemingway said you should always include the weather. By which he meant not just the weather but the physical and moral textures of what is around you. In this workshop, you will learn about perception and how to observe the world, which, in turn, will give structure and authority to your writing.
The workshop is open to everyone from mid-teens up. At the end of the day, you will have a greater appreciation of writing as an art, or, as Tom McGuane described it, “that elaboration of soul that we resent being called a craft but fear to call an art.”
Workshop Tutor Biography:
Eoin McNamee is the author of nine novels, the most recent of which is The Bureau. He has written for film, television and radio. The Comets, his collected short fiction, will be published in October 2026. He is the Director of the Trinity Oscar Wilde Centre.
