An Díseart

An Díseart is a community centre housed in the former Presentation Convent in Dingle town. Founded in 1998, An Díseart developed as a centre for research into all areas of Irish spirituality and Celtic culture, led by the late Monsignor Padraig Ó Fiannachta. His valuable collection of manuscripts and books is now housed in the Dingle Library, a few doors down the street.

The most notable feature of the neo-gothic building are the 12 lancet windows in the chapel, created in 1924 by Harry Clarke, one of the foremost stained-glass artists of all time. The windows, along with the tranquil walled gardens, first laid out in 1849, have become a popular attraction for the many visitors in Dingle. An Díseart also features several frescoes.
