Accessibility
At Dingle Literary Festival, we are committed to promoting and fostering an environment that is inclusive, diverse, and equitable for all participants, guests, and attendees. We are dedicated to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background, feel welcome, valued, and respected within our festival’s space.
Dingle Lit is keen to make its events as accessible as possible for all visitors; however, we are a small festival and may not always have the means to do so. If you are attending an event and have any queries about accessibility or special requirements, please email us at info@dinglelit.ie, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Venues
An Díseart
An Díseart is on Green Street in the centre of Dingle town; it is a hilly street. Disabled parking spaces are available on the street and in the town car park, the entrance to which is a right turn after the church next to the venue. The main front entrance is accessible by ramp, and there is a lift to upper floors. There is a ground floor bathroom, but it may not be accessible for wide wheelchairs. The Skellig Hotel
The Skellig Hotel hosts our opening ceremony on the Friday evening in the Skellig Suite ballroom and author events on Saturday. Dingle Skellig Hotel is committed to providing accessible services and has guest rooms that are mobility-friendly. The dining room, residents’ lounge, Skellig Suite, and bar are all on ground-floor level, without any steps, and are easily navigated. Follow this link for their full statement.
Sacred Heart University Campus
The Sacred Heart University is our learning hub for the weekend. We host writers’ workshops over the festival weekend on the campus. Vehicle and mobility access is via the entrance on John Street. There is a pedestrian entrance on The Mall at which there are three sets of steps up to the Reception door.
The Dingle Library
The library is located on Green Street, and there is step-free access.
The Green Room.
The Green Room is located on Strand Street, above John Benny’s Pub. Please note that The Green Room is only accessible via a staircase. There is no step-free access.
BASE
BASE Hotel is located on Bridge St., beside SuperValu and opposite a car park on Bridge Street. There is step-free access.
Benners Hotel
Benners Hotel is located on Main Street, opposite the AIB bank. It has a car park, and there is a lift in the hotel.
Pobalscoil
The Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne is located on Spa Rd, Grove, Dingle, Co. Kerry. There is step-free access.

Ionaid
An Díseart
Tá An Díseart i lár bhaile Dhaingean Uí Chúis ar shráid chnocach. Tá spásanna páirceála do dhaoine faoi mhíchumas ar fáil ar an tsráid agus sa charrchlós in aice leis an ionad. Tá rampa ag an bpríomhdhoras tosaigh agus tá ardaitheoir go dtí na hurláir uachtaracha. Tá leithreas ar urlár na talún ann, ach b’fhéidir nach mbeidh cathaoireacha rothaí atá leathan in ann dul isteach ann.
Dingle Skellig Hotel
Reáchtálann Óstán na Sceilge searmanas oscailte na Féile tráthnóna Dé hAoine i mbálseomra Svuít na Sceilge. Chomh maith leis sin, beidh roinnt ceardlanna ar siúl sa seomra boird le linn na féile. Tá Óstán na Sceilge, Daingean Uí Chúis, tiomanta do sheirbhísí inrochtana a chur ar fáil agus tá seomraí aíochta ann atá ar a leas siúd a bhfuil fadhbanna soghluaisteachta acu. Tá an seomra bia, tolglann na n-áitritheoirí, Svuít na Sceilge agus an beár ar fad ar leibhéal na talún gan aon chéimeanna agus is furasta do bhealach a dhéanamh eatarthu.
Sacred Heart University in Dingle
Sacred Heart University Campus is ionad foghlama dúinn don deireadh seachtaine é. Reáchtálaimid ceardlanna do scríbhneoirí ar an gcampas le linn dheireadh seachtaine na féile. Is tríd an mbealach isteach ar John Street a dhéantar rochtain do fheithiclí agus do dhaoine a bhfuil riachtanais soghluaisteachta acu. Tá bealach isteach do choisithe ar The Mall, áit a bhfuil trí shraith staighrí ag dul suas go dtí doras an ionaid fáiltithe.
